Water and Sediment in TBF can cause fouling of equipment and corrosion of storage tanks. Additionally, excessive amounts of water may cause the burner flame to extinguish or spattering may occur resulting in damage to burner nozzles. Storage tanks should be regularly examined for water and sediment. If water and sediment build up, the tanks should be cleaned. The maximum allowable water and sediment content for all grades of TBF is 2.0% volume.
