Introducing Gorge Analytical’s Key Personnel

Jeff Fetkenhour, President

Prior to founding Gorge Analytical, LLC, Mr. Fetkenhour, served as the Analytical Department Manager for the Southwest Research Institute at the Umatilla Chemical Demilitarization Facility (UMCDF). Jeff also served as manager for Radian International on contract to Raytheon Missile Systems to establish start-up operations for Total Chemical Management. He successfully realized an unexpected startup within three (3) months for a just-in-time delivery operation with over one million dollars of environmentally sensitive inventory. Jeff combines technical expertise with forward-thinking leadership and management to accelerate the continuous improvement required in a new, fastgrowing industry. Jeff participates in a number of industry technical workgroups and has given presentations on quality at area conferences.

Michelle Fetkenhour, Laboratory Director

The laboratory at Gorge Analytical is managed by Laboratory Director, Ms. Michelle Fetkenhour. Michelle brings to the company over seven (7) years of laboratory management experience and 13 years of critical laboratory analysis experience. Prior to her tenure at Gorge Analytical, Michelle managed the Analytical Department for the Southwest Research Institute at the Umatilla Chemical Demilitarization Facility (UMCDF). She has been repeatedly recognized with accolades by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ), the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Washington Group International, and the UMCDF Field Office to the U.S. Army.

Gorge Analytical has inherent strengths and core competencies. The existing team consists of degreed scientists with specialized training in analytical instrumentation. This team has worked together for nearly 10 years to meet high standards and expectations such as those set forth by the US Army Chemical Demilitarization industry, the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ), the Washington Department of Ecology, and Washington Group International. The staff at Gorge Analytical has demonstrated aptitude and proficiency in instrumental analysis, quality management, chemical hygiene, and waste management.

This team was formally recognized in October 2005 by the CDC; in a Technical Evaluation Report, the CDC stated, “Those observed are well trained and well motivated to carry out their designated duties with professional care in a timely manner to support operations. Management throughout all portions of the laboratory are particularly competent, forwardthinking, and cognizant of how to resolve complex technical issues. The leadership within the laboratory is exceptional.”

The most valued analytical test requirement by biofuel producers and distributors relies on capable gas chromatographers. The existing team at Gorge Analytical consists of highly trained gas chromatographers with more than 25 years of combined experience.

We will advise you if you are ordering unnecessary tests. Some tests should be preceded by other tests during systemization, so ordering them appropriately is an efficient use of your testing budget. We want you to maximize the value of the tests we provide.
